Too far north. Too far east.
Figured I would get this started. Any idea how much snow is standing in the Jemez?

Settled to 8-12 inches depending on exposure.

I am going up the hill to Thompson Ridge (above La Cueva) this weekend to blow snow at the cabin and can give you a better idea after that

count me in for whatever trouble we can find (and we can all bail ourselves out of ;)) it will be the new 80's virgin voyage...

went up behind the geothermal sight and the bancos this weekend. 12 inches on most roads and up to 18 on north facing slopes.

Did OK with chains on the front.

Supposed to snow again Tuesday. will keep you posted

It is the area just south of Redondo campground. Ends up just above Jemez Falls . A little rouch, but chains on the front worked good. Did not need chains on the mesa behind the geothermal site. It is a little flatter. You can look down on FEnton from there.

who's going and where? I'm planning to bring the troopy, need to get the CB hooked up and replace the fuel filter this week.

I'm planning to be there, as well as John/sl33p3. I think Pappy is also planning to attend. Any others?

No clue yet as to where. I'm open to suggestions. We could do Paliza Canyon from the bottom end and see how far we get. Also, up near Fenton is always an option.

Sometime, maybe Jemezcrusher will join us and it sounds like he could show us some new snow run areas. :steer:

I'm planning on it.

Yep, I'm in. The MT/KMs will go on Thursday.

Well it looks like I'm going to get to go. Hope to meet some of you guys and find out what real snow wheelin is like.

Even though some folks think we over do Paliza, I like it for the snow run. We haven't done it this year, yet. Almost always a challenge with the gain in elevation, and a nice beautiful canyon. Some of our best snow runs have been up there (Rover, and Amanda).

Just as a warning, I'm working the day after so you boys will be dragging my sorry hide out if anything happens. :steer:

What time, gents? Eight too early?

Put us in as a maybe - have the four year old nephew in from FL and he has never seen real snow. How long do you think the day will run....10hrs? Just need to plan for the kids. It would be myself, han, kaden, my sister, and her son.

Also, I haven't bought chains....going to be an issue? Anyone have a old snowsuit/boots setup that a 4 year old could wear as I'm sue he would want to make some snow angels.
