here it is!

i assume this will be a stocker friendly run, so let's plan accordingly. Pappy's thought of let the big rigs plow and stockers follow could work to a degree. but we saw even last weekend that where some can get to even other modified rigs can have trouble following.

Make it a hardcore run and let the stockers deal with it!

:p

Just kidding.

Should we do something local or go for something else?

Traditionally we have gone to Caja del Rio west of the Santa Fe airport. That is also where NN4W has also gone and some of us have joined them. They also meet at 550/528. When I've gone before there has been little snow. I suspect this year will be an exception.

The downside is it probably won't be very difficult for the built rigs.
The upside is it probably won't be very difficult for the stock rigs.

Sorry to sort of hijack the thread, but if anyone is interested in a Puerco run on Saturday, the 27th, a group of FJCers and a few J**Ps are going to meet for a run at the Starbucks on Southern, across from WalMart at 10am. Don't really have an agenda for where we are going, but everyone is invited.

Lauri and I are planning on the NY run too! See you then.

I guess this is the best way to split the difference. After all, it is about being together and being a club.

That said, an idea for when I do eventually come to a meeting, it seems that we have enough hardcore rigs, or people with rigs they are willing to be hardcore with, that we might want to up the ante so to speak....

Anyway, that's just me. I'm happy to go with the concensus.

:)

We discussed this somewhat on the Paliza run. We need to have runs that work for both groups. In order to get new folks interested we need to have softer runs. Paliza was (somewhat) an informal run where folks with stronger rigs participated. A group that wanted to go back out after having a blast on the (easier) tree run. I think the run on the 18th has this potential too, to be a harder run. Then we can soften it down a bit for Super Bowl. Just my ideas.

we'll see who's planning to attend and adjust from there. i believe the last run was one of the first we actually had minimum requirements for vehicles and designated "hardcore run". i figure that it will come up a little more often, but we do need to be sure and include everyone more often than not.

i was kinda leaning that way too. and we can discuss all this at the meeting as well.

I would be interested in a New Year's Day run. I tend to like the harder runs and when we cover more ground than at the Christmas tree run, but I understand that was a large group and we had a wide array of vehicles and I certainly do not want to dissuade anyone from coming along. I always have fun out wheeling with you guys and gals regardless of the circumstances.

Count me out for NYD run. One less stock truck to worry about. I'll be in Farmington (not wheeling or fishing) - visiting my sister who couldn't come to Alb. for Christmas due to a lack of days off before and after.

Just one note about this trail: not Cruisedan or Beowulf friendly Unless of course you wrap your vehicle with Saran wrap :D

I'm in tentatively... choice of runs, i'll go with the masses.

I've got 33", chains for the rear, center & rear locker.

Recovery points will be installed in the front before we go.

Mike,

You have any of that "industrial strength" Saran wrap in case I decide to go :D? I am already getting harrased bout the scratches on mine. I figured you're giving up on calling your 80 "Pristine".

I am interested... I can usually hang.

I like to play in the snow :D

I'm out. My truck is screwed. I'll probably be spending the day troubleshooting.

Have fun and be safe.

The Caja was a suggestion. We can go to the Jemez too, which is closer anyways.
