Just got all of my new weatherstripping as listed in resource thread. I installed the door weatherstriping on left rear door-fit perfectly. I then installed the body moulding/inner door seal-and the door doesn't come close to shutting. Has anyone run into this prob? Is there some trimming that needs to be done. I'm wondering if some of the seal should be trimmed away from the body moulding on the lower front portion. The door has fairly even clearance all the way around so I don't think it's an issue of adjusting hinges/latches/retainer.

are you sure it's not just a matter of new uncrushed w/s?

That's my vote too. Maybe slide the hinges out a little, and slam it real hard (make sure you didn't leave a screwdriver or something in the door first). Mine was hard to close for a while with the new WS...

I have another vote for new W/S making the door tight. Mine was bad to begin with, but got better pretty quickly. One thing that didn't get a lot better was the new window felt. My windows are very hard to roll up and down and sometimes require a little "manual" assistance.

That interior stripping never worked for me. From the extra pressure trying to get it to seat, it cracked the doors where the channel is welded in. This was from whatever SOR sold me a year or so ago. I just trimmed it ghetto style so that my doors would even shut. I've given up on sealing it on the 69, the doors and entire body have enough misalignment. I was disappointed in the channel felt too. It was tight and recessed farther than stock.

When I installed the W/S, I had to adjust the doors a little so they would close without binding. No problems since.

Things are fitting much better- loosened all the door hinge bolts and moved the latches out a little-and finally got the doors slammed shut. After about a day like that, everything compressed a good bit and I adjusted hinges/latches. Still have to slam the door pretty hard but there's no binding and I'm happy with end result. btw-the jcwhitney window channel felt worked perfectly.
