The V10 is a terrible engine...lots of crank breakage! My brother had one in a box truck as a backup for his racing team when they ran the carrera panamericana last year. Got it allllllll the way down the mexican peninsula, where it broke the crank :( Friend here had one that made it all the way to 52000 before crapping out...no V10 for me, thanks :)

Also Diesel takes twice the amount of money to service, three times the amount to rebuild. If you are only towing a rig and that is it then why buy diesel. A V-10 will out pull a PSD on a hill, I have seen it done. All you have to do is a couple things to the motor.

I would agree on the rebuild, not so much on the service, unless you take everything to the dealer.

As far as a v10 pulling a PSD on a hill, either the hills aren't very steep or there is no altitude involved. Come out west, put equal weight behind/on both trucks and hit the Rockies or the Sierras.
