Ok, so not so new... but it's currently undergoing a rebuild.

She's got a stinking big 4.0 litre inline six 3F motor...
Lpg, drip kit so the valves don't burn etc.

4 inches of body lift, further suspension lift, super heavy duty suspension (towing a 3.3 tonne.. that's 3300 kg... loaded car trailer didn't even drop the rear more than 0.5 inches) that's 6600 lb's for you American's :D

The carby is compeltely rooted, I just fully rebuilt it and it's only very marginally better than before (and yes it is properly tuned). Hence why i'm converting to EFI. That and I hate cold-starting carbies :D

33x12.5x15 tyres (about to be replaced with a new set)
Rear factory locker
Front open diff
Some random stereo system
Scanner with Trunk tracking
CB with Sideband USB/LSB
UHF
Spring loaded drivers seat
LOTS AND LOTS of driving lights (because I do most of my 4x4ing at night)
a useless bullbar (needs to be replaced) and needs a winch.

Umm... i've got more photos... and there's tons more lights on it etc. I'll see if I can find them :D

Great buy and welcome to the forum Entaran:D

Where's the LPG tank stashed.
I had my carb rebuilt when it was still on petrol and it started beautifully if you followed the correct procedure, but most of the time it would start with no throttle and settle into a smooth idle.

Do thE Ballarat cops like that exhaust?:D.

Insted of mucking around with EFI have you considered a diesel swap?
Ballarat Toyota are the home of the cheap 1HZ and fuel injector pumps.

Dont be shy with the pics ,we love em.
And dont forget your to place a pic in readers rides;)

Your mud looks like snow.. interesting...

Some pics of towing if poss....

 WELCOME

That's white clay in enfield state forest.

The gas tank sits directly infront of the tow hitch it's slung directly behind the rear axle. If you look -really- closely you can see the tank bash plate in the 2nd photo as that little bit that sticks out below the rear mudguard. It's going to be towing a car again today I think so i'll see if I can sort out some pics. Unfortunately my camera has gone missing so I'll have to borrow my g/f's.

Yes i've considered a diesel swap as I already make my own diesel for one of my work cars, but I've never really looked into it. If you'd like to post up what I need to buy/what needs to be modded (mounts etc) then I would be happy to look into it further. The 3F in carby form whilst it has BUCKETLOADS of torque, just is sooooo thirsty. I'm getting like 10 MPG atm on petrol to give you an idea of how bad the engine is. I need to compression test her and figure out where to go from there. I'd be -really- interested in a good 4.2 litre diesel engine with a hairdryer strapped on the side of course (turbo).

The exhaust is a set of genie extractors with a 2.5 inch flange, leads into a slip-on HUGE muffler and dumps straight out the side. No cat, no nothing. It's actually really really quiet and the cops don't care at all because it's over 1m from an opening window (gotta love HUGE doors). Plus it's not possible to run the exhaust out the back with the gas tank.

If I can do a diesel swap, I can get 170 litres of diesel onboard by putting a custom fuel tank where the gas tank is now :D

I think these things retail around here for about 9000 dollars, I got this one for 5500 from the middle of god damned nowhere (outback SA) and drove her 17 hours to get home over two days :D

10 mpg sounds about right for a gasser...
at least that is what i averaged with all the gasser i have owned over the years with a lift and tires...

Just an a surgestion .... look into an LPG conversion if you can find room to place the LPG tank..... I was just reading somewhere on this site about someones LPG conversion. Compresion around 10.5 is what I like for LPG, right cam, hardend vale seats etc.

I've already got gas. On gas it gets like 8.5 mpg

For aussies: petrol 23L/100km, gas 27L/100km.

Would seriously consider a diesel conversion if I can find something around 15-16L/100km or less. Those figures are "normal" driving. If I go hard in the bush, usage figures go out the window as I'm in lowrange a lot. God bless 4 state forests around my house :D

My old 3F was getting 20 liters per 100 on a bad day.

A 1HZ will give you 14 litres per 100 klm.
It made a difference of an extra 200 klms per tank on my 73.
No big difference in power between the 1HZ an 3F.
The 1HZ had more torque down low while the 3F seemed to have more at the top end
However off road the 1HZ is a fuel miser:cool:At a guess I would say its using 7-10 per litres per hour.

You might want to browse through my jumbled diesel engine install thread:D

Welcome to the board, Entaran. Is this a dual fuel vehicle or are you entirely on LPG? Yes, an entry into the Readers Rigs sticky thread would add you to our catalogue of members

All non-Bundera (Light Duty line) Aussie cruisers have full floater rears after 1974. What year is the cruiser, Ent? Does the front have a small high pinion diff centre or the standard Landcruiser ones?

Dave

I know it is a MWB not a Bundy :) I'm just saying to -uhuru- that Aussie non-Bundy cruisers have full floater rear diffs. The reason I was asking you what year it is was to see why you did not fit the factory cable diff lock in the front as the cable locker does not suit post 1990 cruisers front diffs.

BTW, in other markets the Bundy also comes as a MWB:

Neither locker is factory.

The front's open. I dont' even know what a "cable" locker is. The rear is effectively a mini-spool or detroit locker. Works constantly, has almost no slip (bout 1/4 rotation of a 33inch tyre) so it squeals a bit on tight corners.

I bought the car second hand 6 months ago, how the heck would I know what options were available 18 years ago? :D

I thought you haven't a spool .. ( not make sence to me ) maybe a Detroit locker or something else with the same style ..
