Hello everyone
First I like to say that this is a great place with al lot of great stuff.
My name is Kjetil I'm from the southern part of Norway just outside of Oslo.
I currently own two land Cruisers, one is the 1998 Prado VX 5 door (J95) this is my wifes daily driver and the family car. The second one is a 1989 BJ73 VM I got hold of this summer, I actually waited for this car to be sold for two years. As far as we know this is the only BJ73 with plates in Norway. Most of you probably dot know what a BJ73 with VM spec is, it was assembled in Portugal with an Italian 2,5L turbo diesel. Most of the car was assembled I Japan except for the engine package, glow relay and the mirrors. I just could not live with the fact that the engine was Italian so I got hold of 14B from a 1990 Dyna truck. I used the last months to get it in. It was a LOT of work including replacing the input shaft and the Output shaft due to missing splines on the output shaft and the transfer input gear. Also the motor mounts on the frame needed to be replaced.
The 14B is a really nice engine with a lot of power but I’m up for turbo as soon as the winter is over. When I bought my bj73 I sold my LJ73 that I had for the last 5 years.
A pic of my recent LJ73
Some pics of my BJ73 and som pics from the engine swap can be found in my Norwegian Land Cruiser garage.
