My project is traveling half the speed of smell

This projects coming together, Layed down the first coat of Rustic Green, and scored 350 from a machine shop used to be a TBI 350 I converted it to Carb and put HEI dist on it. Anyone use the Advanced adapter 350 to 3speed kit? is it any good? suggestions from experinces? (already looked at the tech/faq etc....)

I would say that that 3 speed it pre 72. It has the downey stick shift adapter so it was a colume shift originaly. That would be why it's got a vacume shift in the transfer too.

I just got my Advanced Adapter 350 to 3speed stuff today with out side frame rail headers yeah:cheers:, so here are some more pics of the parts i got, shot of the new paint I just laid down myself. and the bumper I design fabed and welded up for my rig. also I'm think SOA for suspension with stock springs and shackle reversal is the kit from Ruff Stuff any good or any suggestions?:hillbilly:

I havn't posted in a while, so here are some updates the motor / motor mounts and trany mounts are in decide to use the 3 speed stock xfer and go with a 383 stroker. My metal tech stuff will be here on the 28th so yeah, I will be repainting the fj formula red (not as big of a fan of the green as I thought I would be) the aux gas filler is now in I decied to place it even with the stock one so I looks factory (pretty slick) finished the fab work in the wheel well will be post some pix later

I think your right I've been holding the headers in place looking at them and they seems to add more questions than they answere. I dont think there right for my application maybe I can sell 'em

I plan on going SOA but want to run 38 or 37s whats the general concensus on that ( I will be using tube fenders from Metal Tech) think I can get away with just spring over or ... spring reversal too for clearance under load?

yes not only are you gonna have problems with the inner fenders with those headers, but if you are going to put a 350 you are going to have problems with the headers hitting the frame and also going to have a problem setting up your power steering. The saganaw steering box is going to be moved to the front close to the radiator and the steering shaft to the column will be obstructed by the headers. (dont mean to jump ahead, assuming you are doing p/s conversion) PM me and i will show you how tight things are with block hugger headers on my 350

I ran these on two different small block-powered 40's back in the day with sag PS and had none of the problems you describe. Rust through in a year or less, loosen daily and roasting every wire under the hood were the 'only' problems I had.

Yeah I def going ps on this rig, I've had enough trucks and cars w/ out power steering enough to know I want power steering.:grinpimp: so who makes good parts for ps conversions any ways or better yet what are you running for steering.

Pics of the rig in action

Long time since i posted but made huge progress the rig is up and running it has:

sag power steering, crate chevy 350, turbo 350 tranny, np205 with a jk twin stick kit, the Truck is spring over, Danna 60 with Detroit locker rear, front axle is 40 axel with bobby long birthfields and cross over high steer, 4 wheel disc brakes finished up my custom front bumpers with metal tech stinger and hood protector, with a 9500 mile maker, oh yeah I running a set of 38.5 boggers, resently I installed on board air compressor
