At least to me .
My father and uncle are selling my great-grandfathers old house and shop which he built back in the 1903 or so and that's where he ran his construction business which my grandfather, father and uncle worked for till my father retired some years ago . They are cleaning out the place and the tools are from 1900s till now with some stuff from the Penn Railroad who my great grandfather worked for before he opened this place .
Its really sad to see a place go as it holds alot of memory's for everyone .

I picked up the drill press and bandsaw they bought new in the 50's and am going back this weekend for more stuff .
I've been going over and getting things That I remember while tottering around when I was young like the cannon ball from the revolutionary war that was under the bench that I havent seen in over 35 years my great grandfather dug up while building the house .
Heres a couple of pixs of what i got .

Those tools will probably serve way past when you are gone. As they say--"they don't make like they used to" Keep them oiled, keep them tuned--way better than you could ever buy today--Plus they are from family--a special part.
Enjoy!
ps - Who manufactured the drill press?

yeah thats no joke
and the drill press is a Sears Craftsman

Looks like a Delta mortising attachment on the drill press. Did it come with any bits?

Glad to see they are staying in the family and not being hauled off for scrap or sold at auction.

Did you get the old Snapper Comet as well?

Yeah Dan ,Im glad too
The Snapper was over there too but I picked that up last year when I was snooping around looking at stuff .
My dad bought it new in 67 and had put it over there so he could use it to cut the grass. My uncle got a lawn svc so it sat there for 15 years forgotten . I asked for it and my father didn't even remember it was there .
It got a carb rebuild and put a tube in one tire and now used to cut the grass that last 2 years .
I picked up another this year that was sold for parts ( I wanted the bagger since my dad tossed his out forgetting he still had the mower) It was kept in a heated garage and bought new in 65 and the 82 year old owner wasn't able to pull start it anymore . Its in even better shape and runs like a champ .
They are the landcruisers of the rear engine rider lawn mowers

The band saw got new rubbers :grinpimp: ( tires that is ) and is now working like a champ just need to put a switch on it as it was set up as a "plug it in and go" and is not cool on the safe meter, but thats how they rolled over there . You have no idea how many old wood ladders I cut up and burned that were repaired with table legs and other s*** they had laying around .OSHA would have a field day if they ever saw the crazy s*** they worked with back in the day .

The drill press has been cleaned ,greased, and oiled so I wont need that for awhile
