From the school of hard knocks, I learned a while back that the straight bar fits 67-74. The earlier bar had a step, and the step was offset.

Under the catagory of 'This is why we make notes!' Poured the coolant in, went to get in the truck to start it up and, what's this? I still have a wire tag reminder hanging from the steering wheel. Yup. Little baggie under the front bumper with a new set of hardware...waiting to be installed...
