wow, its been over a year since i bought this LC. time flies when youre driving the best car ever.
so, to keep this somewhat up to date, lets see how my to-do list looks:
The list thus far:
-gas gauge reading empty (possible bad ground at fuel sender?) -i dug into this and quickly gave up. everything looked good at the tank end of business. havent pulled the dash apart to look at the gauge itself. lost interest since we have the trip info in our nav. but sure would like to fix it "one day"
-needs waterpump and timing belt- serviced at autonation toyota in st.pete,fl.
-baseline fluids/ grease driveline
-fix drivers door lock actuator - this little gremlin fell to the bottom of the list as well. i have the parts, just need to do it.
-remove running boards- that never stood a chance of lasting. looks great without them
-possible stock torsion bar 1" lift upfront- cranked them 3/4" and she looks great now
-replace super glued mess of a key with an elite keyelite key was a great buy. have had it a year now and works perfectly
-add bluetooth iphone streaming (bt35-toy or vias)
-replace blown speakers- followed a great write up on here with infinity reference speakers and she sounds great now.
future dreams
-new suspension (ome 1.5" medium load)
-tires (305/65/18)
-front bumper (tjm t3/ arb)
my future dreams have changed and so has the list. shes gonna stay mostly stock and Ive recently done the following:
- replaced shocks with new oem shocks from cruiserparts. this was a fantastic "upgrade" the worn 150k shocks were pretty much dead
- replaced all 4 rotors and pads with new oem
- new front wheel bearings from cruiserparts
- powdercoated the faded stock 18's with fresh powder to match original
- replaced the bald old tires with bfg ko2 (275/70-18) these tires are everything you read about them. amazing, quiet, perfect.
- added airlift 1000 bags for towing help
- installed curt receiver hitch for towing (side note: the ko2 spare fits with about 1/2" of clearance with this hitch)
-new oem windshield thanks to a rock on the highway
-replaced all the tired/cracked oem roof rack plastics with new
with all that, heres a pic of her as of this week. just rolled over 150k and still looking and running great!

i did a couple turns on the front torsion bars and have airbags in the rear. other than that its essentially stock. with those two minor adjustments and new shocks she sits a hair taller than when i get her. the 275's fit great and i wouldn't consider going bigger. if running a full size spare matters Id be surprised if anything larger than the 275/70 fit underneathWhat a great looking setup! I apologize if you answered this in your post (reading on mobile) but curious how the 275/70-18s fit on your rig. I assume you are still essentially stock height right? I have a 03 LX and was looking to put those on it vs the 285s given they are substantially cheaper (and I don't really care about the 10mm width difference).
Thanks

What's the MPG hit with the BFG's? I know they are a heavier tire (by about 15 lbs) compared to the stock tires I'm running. They look great on your truck – mines a dark gray 04.i did a couple turns on the front torsion bars and have airbags in the rear. other than that its essentially stock. with those two minor adjustments and new shocks she sits a hair taller than when i get her. the 275's fit great and i wouldn't consider going bigger. if running a full size spare matters Id be surprised if anything larger than the 275/70 fit underneath
Thanks for the additional info, D5. Any insight as to whether the changes you made to the TB and bags made the difference, or if that tire would fit bone stock? I've done a lot of reading around here but can't seem to find a definitive answer one way or another on that size.

recent shot after a full detail. the car is about to embark on moving myself and family from Florida to Connecticut for a job opportunity. We're pretty excited about the next chapter (and learning how to drive in snow)
