Hi to all.
Hope everyone is doing well. I'm sorry I haven't been around that much. I've been busy working on the property and getting things ready for the house that my dad is building. I'm sorry that this year I will not be able to plan the Turkey Trot due to my busy schedule, but it would be great to keep the tradition if someone would volunteer to organize it. I'm planning to do a tech section at my new work shop to fix my truck, that was hurt badly during the process of helping the bobcat machine remove some tree stumps. Please let me know who will be interested?
Steve let me know if you still have the third member available.

Thanks
Luis

Going to 4.88's or 5.29's?

4.88's.

I'll help organize this tech session as best I can. Depending on how things go, I see a few things happening:

1) We do this not this weekend, but next (11/14) -or-

2) If TT falls thru for the week of 11/21, we just go to Luis' house and harass him there and maybe get some work done on the gears.

Luis has to move some stuff from his house out to his new shop, and he finally got temp power out there. There's a LOT more room at his new property too, so it'll be a good time.

Thoughts?

Here's what you need for stumps! Pulled the trees to make a house and garage pad. Used the 40 to move the stumps around after I cut the trees up.

It would have been cheaper to buy one of those and then sell it again vs pay what Luis paid to get those trees removed!!

My choose would be to have Turkey Trot 11/21 at Luis combine tech session after all we have gone to hard rock alot.plus it gives us a couple weeks to get everything ready like either bring food or put money together to have a cook out.

Okay, it's looking more and more like the 21st.

I'll need to get with Steve and pick up that carrier next week unless he can make it up to Luis' (let us know!)

It looks like Luis is going to buy an ARB for the rear, and I'll help get the master setup kits.

By the way, I saw a neat trick on Xtreme Offroad a few weeks ago. For those interested, watch around 2:40 in this video to see how he makes a scuff bearing and grinds the bearing race to make checking the pinion preload a breeze. If I'd known this when I setup my gears, it wouldn't have been a 2-day affair!!!

If he's getting an ARB he doesn't need another carrier, the ARB replaces it.

He is more than welcome to my carrier, but yeah, if he's going with an ARB, he won't need it.

Any other parts needed, let me know.

I know his Lockrite's pins and springs will be broke, but if the pin holes aren't torn up, I could use those pieces.

So far the only weekend I have free is 11/21

My thought is to have it just in case. You know how Mr Murphy is.

Steve, if you can make it the 21st, let's just plan on that.

I'll be there ! :)

Okay folks - the 21st it is. Please reply if you can make it. Luis' new place is about 5-ish minutes away from his old one (that's in Apopka for those of you who have never been there).

We'll have some kind of food going on - BBQ maybe? - and a general good time. Come to help, come to learn ... come to just talk and meet other Cruiser folk!

PM me with specific questions, or reply here. More than likely I'll get there around 8 or so - and it'll go until everyone decides to leave :)

Bret - I don't think I'll need a ride home this time!

It's both front & rear :) The front will get the ARB pulled, new gears installed. Luis is hoping to get the rear out this weekend and inspect for any other damage, then on the 21st we'll be re-gearing and installing a new ARB.

He really should go full-floater for the rear, semi-float is just archaic at this point.

A narrowed 80 axle with 60 shafts would be perfect.
