Hello everyone, I just joined and thought I would introduce myself.
I have a 1995 HDJ81 with the 1hdft with 208xxx km. I am new to the landcruiser platform but eager to learn more about it. I also have a 2004 tacoma I have modified into a overland rig and I'm excited to start changing up some things on the 80 series next.
My wife and I are making a cross Canada trip later this summer and I am now trying to get everything ready.
I plan on changing my timing belt, water pump/gasket, tensioners, cam seal, 2x crank sealswith an oem kit i found online. Is there anything else you would recommend doing while I'm already in there?
Other modifications planned/recently done:
-Just tossed on a set of 37x13.5 km3
-building a sleeping platform in the back with 2 drawer style fridges
-prinsu roof rack with pelican cases for aditional storage
- really want to get some ppf film on before the trip
-need to install new window regulators/motors

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone

Full fluid change. Some will say to flush the transmission. I recommend not as you might remove particles that are keeping things together, I would do drain and fills.

Toyota red for the coolant, drain fill the transfer and 3rd members. Check the birfs for grease, grease the u-joints in the driveshaft. Also I would replace the power steering fluid and run ATF, ATF has cleaning properties.

Welcome to mud !
Now get your wallet ready 😎

Nice looking rig.
You will do fine for general question here but for diesel question you might get better results in the diesel section

I've always heard that about with flushes as well. On my tacoma I pulled a line off the trans cooler and would drain a couple liters, replace with new fluid and repeat until I had nice clean fluid again.
Good call on power steering fluid, may need to look into that.
