I am picking up an 04 gx470 tomorrow and it has some work down to it. It has rad Flo coils in the front but has the air bag mod? For the rear. I've been reading a lot of people doing the air bag delete. What are the pros and cons of having the factory airbag mod or deleting the airbag?

Is it the ride? Reliability? Or does the airbag system limit travel or hinder compression in offroad situations.

The airbag mod is for looks. If you wheel with it you will pop them in short order and move on to what you should have done to begin with

I've also heard that the ride isn't that great with the airbag mod. Go ahead and rip all that junk out, you'll be happy you did.

I ran the airbag mod for over 2 years (including a fair amount of offroad driving) before I made the swap. I never had any issues, and the ride wasn't too bad, however, I didn't want them to pop while out on a trail, so I did make the swap to coils a while ago. If you are going to stay on easier trails, I wouldn't be too worried about it for the time being.

Yea get rid of the air bags asap, they suck, the air bag mod is a temp thing only. I can't wait to replace the rear air bags on my gx.

Are those the factory rims painted/dipped? If so what did you spray them with color/finish?

Yes they are the factory rims, and they are plastidipped.
