Hey all, recently picked up a 72 FJ40 after several years of wanting one. I drove it 5 hours home with a grin ear to ear and lots of thumbs up from other drivers.

Think I'm going to keep it clean, but already thinking about buying another one for trail use.

Here is a pic of her the day after I brought it home.

Craigslist, guy was located outside of Atlanta. I'll post some more pics in a bit. The PO did about a 95% restoration on it. The rear section and several panels were replaced due to rust. The surface rust on the frame was grinded off and then treated and painted. I still need to attach the spare tire carrier and the jump seats, which are from a later model. The stock jump seats wouldn't fit with the roll cage. The entire floor is also rhino-lined.

The carb needs rebuilt, which will be done this week and it will need a new exhaust, including headers soon.

That is a beautiful truck. I am in the same boat as you with the addiction. What size lift do you think is on that? Tire size?
Again, Congrats.

Very nice truck, I like the shade of blue. Welcome as well !!

Has anyone mentioned the bezel yet?

I believe the PO told me it was a 4 inch lift, the tires are 33x10.5x15. Thanks for the compliments everyone!

I'll try and take a few shots of the engine. If anyone wants to see anything specific, let me know.

Thanks!

Absolutely love it! I want even more pics.

I would probably hang that one on the wall and buy another one to drive. But then again, driving is the whole reason for owning one! Very good find.

i am looking at the same set-up as far as 4" lift and same tires and size. How does it feel and handle?
