What is the advantage of this hitch over the Lunette/ pintle setup?

Quieter for sure. Completely removable for security (although that can be done with a lunette/pintle as well).

Today I sanded the frame and tub, and primed both. The back of the tub and the front of the frame, I primed with weldable primer because both need some fab work.

Did you bring it to Ready-Strip in Upper Marlboro md or is there another one locally in Fairfax?

thanks

John

No, its been sitting in my store room for months in this same state. About two weeks ago a friend picked it up and trailered it to his house to finish the tailgate and extend the front control arms, add the axle and springs. So it should be shaping up soon.

Tail Gate

We'll after many months, the tailgate is almost done and the frame should be done this week. This will not be a fancy camping trailer, just a functional tailer for basic hauling but when finish the top edge will be flat so it will except a top in the future.

Trailer Update

All the credit for the work goes to my friends Cam and Lance at IronPig Offroad.
Here's the update , draw arms have been extended, 5200 LB Axle and springs , front and rear fender extension shelves and a front storage platform. Based on current measurements its should sit level hooked up to my FJ55.

Good job on the extension. That is exactly what i was going to do. Do you have any pics of the connection to the frame for the extension?

Complete

Here's a few more of it painted , for my use it pretty much done except the wiring, lights and bed liner. If I do decide to turn it into a camping trailer the guys at IPOR having given me a great base to start from.

Trailer Update

Looking at the picture of the jack stand, I think it needs to be moved back by the trailer bed because it would hit the truck or my bumper if I jacked the trailer..
