I finally got around to putting new springs on my old M416. Everything came from Crown Automotive through Vintage Jeep Parts.
New 10 leaf springs, new U-bolts, new greasable spring pins, new rear shackles, and new bushings.
Spent half the day cutting off old rusted parts, cleaning things up, and installing new hardware. Once that was done, I power washed it inside and out, and threw some paint on the old girl.
Rustoleum Truck Bed Coating for the inside and Rustoleum Farm & Implement Enamel Paint for the exterior. After 12 or so years of neglect and abuse, I think it came out OK.
Certainly not a vintage showpiece as I had a new frame made for it as the old one had turned to dust, but it does the job.
The new springs gave it about a 1" lift once they settled in a bit, and it tows really nicely now, pulling 5 Swampers and assorted bits. Tracks true with no more top sway in the corners and handles the bumps in the highway like a champ.

Hey buddy, do you know if your hangers were the threaded hangers? I was told those style shackles won't work unless they are the smooth hangers. ( I'm about to drill mine out?

Do your new shackles have sleeves or is it just bolts?

At one point they were threaded, but they were corroded and had to be dremelled out. There was no choice. The shackles came with sleeves/spacers but could only be used for the rear.
