Finally, after a 1 1/2 year hiatus (first time without an LC since 1994), I am back in possession of a cruiser. Just had a 97 LX450 delivered from Texas last week - Merry Christmas to me! Decent set up for riding some trails around here - OME lift, Slee sliders, 285 BFG's, IPF lights, Safari snorkel, TJM front and rear bumper with tire carrier. 149k miles, 25k on factory replaced long block. Rides great, you will see it around soon. This is my first 80, I have had 2 40's - a 76 with 60k and a 72 with 42k, 2 60's - an 85 with 153k and an 88 with 208k (ARB'd, OME'd, etc.) and have had 2 100's - both 99's - on with 69k and one with 150k. Look forward to getting back onto the trails and seeing some of you around.

She looks great!! What are your plans with her, just to keep her as is?

I love the TJM bumpers. Don't see those too often.

That is a sharp looking truck!

Thanks guys, looks like it needs a little more lift and some sort of power adder - thinking about a turbo. Maybe a few more pieces of armor underneath. Definitely have to dynamat and upgrade the audio.

Nice looking 80, congrats on the purchase. Power adder, hmmmmmmm Vortec over turbo any day :)

Thanks for the compliments! Now that I have had more time to go through the truck, I think powder coating the bumpers and tire carrier is first on the list. Possible monstalining, plasti-dip or line-x for the wheels and maybe the cladding/flares if I don't remove them. The good news is that the turn signals quit the other day and the lockers didn't work when I got it. The turn signal fuse wasn't making a good connection and the lockers only took a cleaning of the CDL sensor and plugging the F/R locker switch in. Potential $$$ avoided!

The transformation has begun, stripped out the interior for a full cleaning - only left the steering wheel and the dash in place. Put in a bunch of sound deadening I had laying around and some insulation I had from trying to keep the old 911's cool on the inside. Just need to figure out what I am going to do in order to fix the roof holes where the rack was - I may just replace the oem rack after fixing the minor rust. The bumpers and tire carrier are being prepped to be redone in black, the paint on them was fading and chipped. Next step is to get the remote start alarm and stereo installed - need to find some time - good thing it's something I like doing! Hopefully it will be all wrapped up this weekend. Been out of town the last few meetings, I want to make the next one.
