Hello everyone, new to the scene here. been a jeep guy for awhile but i saw the light and bought an 84 FJ60 from pnwfj (awesome dude) on here. Took the train down from Mount Vernon, WA to Eugene, OR (Go Ducks) met with Cale, the best PO you could have ever asked for, and had a few IPAs. Soon after i was signing the papers for this beauty-

Drove it home about 350 miles the next day and i didnt get to have a crazy adventure like some of the dudes have had on here (thank god), but i did get to watch power steering fluid fly everywhere for 5 hours. Which led me to my first mod/repair- a new power steering pump (Thanks CDan!) and toyota reman air pump. Other than that this thing has been awesome, rides perfect, engine is strong even with 230,000 miles on it.

The rig has an h55f already on it, new head gasket, ome, new tires, the works. I absolutely must throw my money at vehicles though- much to the dismay of my wife- so here begins an extremely slow buildup of My FJ.

I recently bought a 2f with 100k miles from a guy in seattle at a very good price and will be slowly rebuilding it so whenever this engine goes i will have a like new engine ready for her. When that goes in i will be desmogging as well.

I bought some new wheels, I really liked the ones on it, but ive wanted these for an extremely long time- american racing mojave 15x8 they fit perfect.

Next im moved on to another big project, the interior. The carpet was green so I pulled it all. There was no rust whatsoever, much to my delight, but there was a ton of that factory sound deadener. I went to home depot and bought goof off, and some industrial stripper. I used those in the trunk and made a HUGE mess of tar, HUGE. So i figured there had to be a better way, used the trusty internet to find out about dry ice. 2 blocks and 20 mins later all of it was up. Vacuumed the whole thing out cleaned it up, checked for rust one more time, and took it to Linex. I wanted an OEMish look so i had the whole thing sprayed the exact color of the carpet (before it turned green) I just picked it up today and it turned out amazing. Perfect color match (with their kevlar dupont paint) , and a very very professional and detailed installation. Worth every penny, and it was a s***-load of pennies. They got every nook and cranny- i removed every possible bolt to make it easy on them. Also got the seat back sprayed, basically anywhere there was carpet. I still cant believe how well it turned out. Here are some pics, more to come when i get everything reinstalled.--

What are your ultimate plans for your new Cruiser?

If I was going to build my dream expedition 60 series, I'd pretty much do what you have here..........OME lift, 33's, stripped interior with Line-X, etc. I'm diggin' this build so far. Keep up the good work!

dude I have to give you props on the dry ice thing. Getting the carpet up is in my plans soon and I was wondering how you would get all the crap up and you solved my problem. Thanks a bunch man and welcome to the addiction.

Ultimate goal is an expo rig- roof top tent coming soon. This thing is going to be perfect for exploring the north cascades, should be good to go by the time summer rolls back around!

Look guy, you just can't waltz into this place with your new toy and start going willy nilly on fixing it up and showing it off and stuff......especially without first getting an official ih8mud welcome.

:flipoff2: :flipoff2:

Welcome to the madness. Nice looking truck.

That lineX looks great! That's prolly the nicest 60 I've seen in Skagit county (i'm in the Woolley)

Wow! Truck looks good as it is!

Damn Derek!
The pics you posted are way better than the one you sent me. When are you coming down for the engine? Nice 60 and see ya soon.

ARe you planning on putting back down some carpet and sound deadening? I imagine that the road noise from a bare interior would be like being inside a trash can.... I've only had dealing with Rhino lining here in Australia, and its only 3 to 5mm thick....

Apart from that, love the way it sits and those American racing wheels look great. Nice truck.

Hey ! Forget about all the money yur puttin' into the cruzah, put some water on that lawn!! :D:D:idea:

Just kiddin' ... Damn nice rig. That interior is sweet!

Looks good ProwlerDriver - glad she ended up in your hands. Thanks again for the IPA sticker ; )

The interior isnt much louder. Well if it is, i cant really tell. That linex extra is pretty smooth so its pretty easy to clean too. I had the normal black in the tub of my jeep and it was pretty rough texture and pretty much a pain to keep clean.

yeah, i learned my lesson with the nitrogen. When the bag says to use sparingly or it will burn, its probably best to follow those directions
