Is the cage powder coated or what? And how did you paint it if it's welded in place? Can't wait to see it at the next Trailcrew meeting.

everytime I see look at this thread and see your cage...makes we want to bust all my money on tubing and a welder :hillbilly:

If I drove out to SoCal, could you make and install a cage EXACTLY like that for me?

I guess nobody noticed the cool ass tweeter mounts front and rear in the corners. Did you say you make a kit for this? I have the skills to make one but i lack the tube bender at the moment.

Here is a close up pic of the tweeter mount.

Yes I do make a kit for this, and its it can be shipped via UPS.

That's correct but you can also have someone local weld it for you and save the gas money and me charging you and arm and a leg for welding.

Octavio62 is your truck SOA?

I am very excited to see this truck in person on April 7th. It has some cool attributes that you don’t see in a lot of cruisers.
Custom cage which looks beautiful.
Custom tweeter mounts – still can’t figure out the wiring to those suckers from the pictures.
Coiled front axle with 4-link setup and what looks to be All Pro Hy-Steer.
Traction bar in the rear. It will be nice to see one in person as I will need one shortly for my SOA.
Engine isn’t stock correct?

Why is the leaf spring shackle still on the front of the frame with bushing in it if you are running coils? Looks like the truck was previously shackle reversed with leafs? Why not lop them off if using coils?

Look closer and carefully, that's a sway bar mount, and yeah it's a 6.0 LQ9 Motor 400+hp 400+flbs. torque.

No wonder you're busting birfs right and left. I'm surprised you've waited this long for longfields.

I never had taken my truck off road before, I was more interested in the looks of it and performance on the street. My back ground is hot rods, 1/4 mile, then I met some guys from nicapwr.com they brought me into their club and well I found a weak spot in the armor. Also since most of the time I am working on customer rigs I have very little time to work on my own. But longfields are next 2 more weeks. Currently doing a diesel install on a 40 and coil overs in front, fj60 axle swap, and a 6.0 install on a heep, as soon as those are done, I am next in line.

:flipoff2: I will believe it when I see it. those long fields are never gonna be on, I have a stinger and fenders that I need you to make, and some suspension work so you add that to the list and get in line behind me.

Damn.. that is some niiiiiiiice fab work...
Thanks for the tip on welding being easier when the metal is clean........

That's a nice rig you have built there eh !!

Bienvenido a IH8MUD !!
