Pleassse take pics of cluster installed . I love the setup but was curious on how easy it will be to view the gagues from the drivers seat. The major gauges are low in the cluster and was curious if the steering wheel will impact visibility. I currently have temp, volts, and oil autometer gauges in seperate carbon fiber housings on top of dash pad. Great for viewing, looks good, and very functional. I would like to have a cleaner dash for my other accessories.

kchargis: Did you ever figure out which electronic speedo to use for your BTB Cluster ? I'm on the same boat you were when you attempted to install the new cluster. I need an electronic SPEEDO. BTB should ready give you a hand/hint when they sell you the product. It seems maybe they didn't do the install themselves.

HELP ! Does anyone know, or can suggest an electronic speedo that would work with the BTB cluster in a stock 1980 FJ40. Thanks !

Here are some pics of the BTB cluster plate and autometer street rood gauges. I'm gonna try to get them in over the weekend.

Is this company, BTB, still around? I sent an email and called.
No reply, and phone disconnected.

I'm wondering about the indicator lights... size specs, where to get them, etc.
Any ideas?

Wow.. this is an expensive set-up... but looks very nice.
(I'm going to go buy a lottery ticket today)

Hi, I just bought the cluster but it did not come with the led lights. I called BTB, they told me to go find my own led/ lights. I tried two auto parts store and did not find anything. HELP. Where cAn I get some lights for signals and high beams.

Another place that has LED lights that are pretty cool IMHO is DEI Engineering.

They are a bit more expensive, but they look pretty cool. Here is a pic of my instrument cluster with them installed. They feature a domed head on them to make them look like attachement screws.

I got my gauge panel from Trail Candy and had it powder coated with a silver vein powder coat.

As you can see, I agree with the other that the QUAD gauge look is a nice update without complicating the panel too much.

That's pretty nice.. I think BTB is no more.. still no response to my email.
I'll prob go with Trail Candy, and already sent them an email. Those lights are sweet... but $21/ea? Whoa... but compared to the gauges, I guess you might as well, right? Very cool dash...

Noticed you are running a 350... is that a stock Toyota column? Nice rig..

Thanks. Stock Toyota column. So far so good. I like the big old school steering wheel.

BTB had some pretty cool stuff. Have you tried to call them? I generall called them from the number on their website. I usually got what sounded like an older man on the phone, but helpful. I remember thier stuff being expensive, but cool to browse through for ideas.

I like the black background gauges and quad. Looks great. I wish I had a budget for it...

Gauges

Thanks Alexjet.

For the money, my only complaint with the gauges is backlighting. They do not light up very brightly. I hooked them up to the rheostat on the headlights knob, so they can be dimmed, but even at full brightness, they do not put out very much backlighting at night. I will have to post a thread here soon asking for help from some of the electricians in the group. that's one area not in my comfort zone.

Take care,
Chris
