I have an 87 fj60 with a 2f and I'm thinking I need a carb as the HC readings are off the charts during my latest CA smog test. Have you had anyone use one of your carbs on a smogged rig? The only things I'd be missing are the hac and the decel fuel cut right? I could still run my air injection and egr with this unit no? Thanks!

Good question and not something I can answer. That being said I've sold quite a few carbs to CO and CA maybe 200-300. I'm sure all of those couldn't be pre 75 cruisers.

Why not send your carb to Mark at Marksoffroad and have him rebuild it?

Spacer???

Marshall,

This is one of your carbs - there is about a 3mm gap between it and the air cleaner housing. FJ40Jim mentioned in another thread that you might have a spacer to address this issue. Is that something I can buy locally or something I should get from you? I realize it is not aligned perfectly, but I think I can move the bolts to the valve cover to line everything up pretty easily.

Let me know what you think. Note: the OEM gasket is sitting on top of the carb.

Thanks,
Greg

Greg which carb did you order from me? For a 60 or a 40? The 60 carb I ship doesn't come with the spacer. The 40 does. That's the only difference between the two. If you got a 40 check the packaging. I wrap the spacer in papaer and sometimes it can be overlooked.

Can't wait to get my carburetor I'm super excited any idea of when the next shipment will go out?

I'm kind of lost when looking for a good carb. Most sites talk about pre 73' as the f engine and the other carbs work on the 2f engines. I have a 74' fj40 with an f engine and I'm not sure which carb would work without modification. I was thinking of a webber 38/38 from JT outfitters as they say it doesn't need modification but all the threads here bash the webers but praise the troll hole. I'm just wondering the proper route to go.

How do I get in line for one?

I have a 74 40 with a 1.5f but would like to go with the newer style carbs like 75+. Will I have a problem with this? I'm running a weber atm. I have the spacer for it from a fj60. I'm also running a caddy 4.9 air cleaner so spacing is not an issue. I also have the stock linkage throttle on mine so no cable

Payment sent. Look forward to your product.

Thanks in advance,

James S.

Btw. I have a 78 2f with weber carb currently. Has cable throttle.
One other question is the electrical wire contacts. Where is this wire from what is it used for?

Also. Are the carb insulators absolutely necessary. What problems can arise from a heated carb? My weber did not have one.

Thanks in advance
