Hopefully some of my customers will chime in about this. I can tell you it won't smell rich with my carb.

That was one of the main reasons I ditched my weber 6 years ago and looked for a better solution. Wouldn't be where I am today without improperly tuned webers out there.

marshall, want to confirm you recieved my payment for a 2F carb and when that might ship. thanks

Got it. Carbs should be in around the first week of Sept.

thank you sir.
what year stock air cleaner and carb insulator are IDEAL? do i need a choke cable? thanks.

I'm running a Holley 350. It's starts really easy, first crank every time but you have to let it idle for a solid 10 minutes before you can go anywhere. Choke doesn't seem to make any difference.

It always has a big flat spot around 1200 RPMs. An almost stall, flat spot. Verifying the timing and upgrading to a HEI ignition didn't change it much.

BUT.. my biggest complaint with the carb is the smell of fuel. When I get back from a ride in my Cruiser, I feel like I need to strip down in the garage and take a shower. The smell of partially burned fuel is really bad. The wife-won't-ride-in-it bad. (No comments about how that is good thing)

My question is; how do the desmogged Trollhole carbs compare? I'm guessing that a properly tuned, jetted and maintained carb will not leave you with the smell of unburned fuel but I would like to verify.

I was in the same boat you are in. Bought a used 2f with a recently "rebuilt" Holley 350. Started up, idled like a champ but sputtered and died when it was under a load. After a lot of digging, I realized my Holley was dumping fuel into the manifold and flooding my cruiser. All that excess fuel was ending up in my oil pan. Thankfully I caught it before my oil became too thin and burned up my motor. That Holley went into the dumpster and I bought a TH unit. Haven't looked back since. It's a great upgrade and for me it was a matter of 4 bolts and a throttle cable and I was back on the road.

I ordered a Trollhole carb yesterday. I'm all set on throttle and choke cables but I need a carb insulator. SOR is out of stock. If anyone has a source for one, please let me know. Thanks.

Have you tried cruiserparts.net?

Also know cruiser specialties in salida co has a bunch of them. I saw them with my own eyes.

its a 78. did i just answer my own question? :) i thought i read your carb is a copy of an 83, didnt know if it helped to have a later insulator and AC. thanks

Since you have the early 2f valve cover I'd go with a 79 and earlier 2f air cleaner. The valve cover will dictate the type of air cleaner that will work best.

Top view. Notice the air cleaner mounting hole locations.

How much taller the earlier is than the later.

I'm having trouble finding the throttle cable for my 74, anyone know where to find one? Thanks!

I was originally told I would get them by the 7th. Now they are telling me they will ship to me on the 7th with an eta of the 16th. Sorry people.

Hi Marshall, I got your carb and dizzy on and all hooked up. When I start the truck I don't get much more than a rough idle. I've rechecked everything and can't seem to see what it is. Whenever I give it gas it sputters and struggles and dies or goes back to the rough idle. Any help would be much appreciated.

i have ordered a carb from you and was wondering if you received the payment. checking on status of shipment.

Can someone please post a clear picture of the accel mechanical linkage to a trollhole carb? I coming from a weber and the PO hacked the linkage. IDK what stays and goes and what i need to buy. Thanks!!
