Hi Marshall,
I am still having trouble getting the carb to run properly. This is what I have done so far....before I got the carb I was running a weber with a new fuel tank old fuel filter....and it ran quite well.....when I replaced the carb I replaced the intake manifold. The old one was fine but noticed that PO had welded up a crack that was just under the carb...so figure it was best to replace while I had it apart.
when I bolted everything up I eliminated any vacuum leaks I could find and she starts up just fine....However there is a small l stumble just after you tap the peddle like it is thirsty for fuel but quickly powers through the stumble...Drives fine in first gear through the end of the peddle range. Get to second and third gear if you hit the peddle hard it stumbles and the sound from the exhaust is best described as a flutter forth gear does the same near the end of the peddle range and recovers just before you hit the floor during aggressive acceleration .
If you go easy on the peddle through all four gears the issue is not present other that the exhaust sounds a little less smooth than it did with the weber.
I have since replaced the distributer and coil with a large cap set up from a fj60 and took it to a shop so they could set the timing as I did not have the time or a gun......though the old dizzy was shot (bad bearing that would hardly turn by hand) there was no improvement.
Last I changed the fuel filter.....and no change.....
My last ditch effort was to take a piece of vacuum hose to my ear and put the other end at various places around the header to see if I could hear any vacuum leeks...no luck
The one thing I do notice is that the fuel bowl seems to barely have any fuel in it....infact when I rock the body side to side I can barley see the fuel splashing around at the bottom of the window....when i pump the gas the bowl looks empty....behind the glass the carb body has a circular cut out for the window....the fuel is below the circular cut out.
How high should the gas fill the bowl.....I am starting to believe that it has to be a fuel delivery issue.....but an scratching my head....because when I changed the fuel filter gas gushed from the section of file line attached to the tank...so if there is a issue it has to be between the pump and the carb.
So I disconnected the fuel line and nothing came out of the line but its up hill so not surprised....will disconnect both ends and blow out to make sure their is nothing in the line.....also removed gas cap to see if there was a pressure issue....no luck.
Just ordered a new fuel pump....
Last but not least sprayed the carb base with carb cleaner no evidence of vacuum leak.
Any thoughts.....? I am going to check all the ports on the intake manifold again in the am to double check for vacuum leaks as well as the carbs gaskets.

I have a couple left. They are $75 shipped.
I have the original oil bath cleaner, but the PO has cut it up to fit another carb. I will need to either do some metal work on it to make it work or get a different air cleaner. I'm open to suggestions.
Will your distributor work on my 67 FJ40. It still has the F135 motor and the original vacuum advance dizzy. Also, I bought a pertronix electronic ignition. Can I mount that in your dizzy? Basicly I guess I'm asking is it just like the one I have? If so hold it for me and I will buy it. Thanks!
I saw a couple of people have asked but I didn't see a response; is there a way to be put on a waiting list for when you get the next batch in? I'm not sure how many are in a batch...

My dizzy will work with your motor. PM me your address and I'll send you one to use and see if this fixes your problem. If it does you can buy the dizzy for $75. If it doesn't and ends up being the carb you pay nothing. Want to get this right.
