Found that Neon Dials on Ebay re released depos for the fzj 80 and I bought a set. Funny thing is did you guys who have bought these depos in the past make your own harness from the depos to factory? My new headlights came with no wiring harness, just the housings and side lights? Where do I buy a harness?
Thanks Yall

Innovative Wiring sells a conversion harness or you can make your own.

So innovative says they don't make Toyota harness anymore, but there are harnesses available, What one do I buy that doesn't allow for over heat, I installed depos and have 9005 9006 factory plugs. Do I go with H1 or H4 or?
Sorry so confused and all the other forums search confused me with Slee Harnesses and such.

Option #1:
Low Beam: 9006 to H4 adapter
High Beam: 9005 to H1 adapter
I did not do this as it was difficult for me to source the adapters.

Option #2:
Another option is to cut off the 9006/9005 connectors and replace them with H4/H1 connectors found at most auto stores. You can use a H4 connector for the H1 bulb if you cannot find a H1. The H4 connectors seems to be readily available at most major auto parts stores. The H4 looks like this:
H4.webp
If you use the H4 for the H1 bulb there will be an extra wire that you just clip back and wrap off so it does not inadvertently ground.

The above options will NOT take advantage of the dual filament H4 bulb.

Option #3:
Get a Slee Wiring Harness and modify it to take advantage of the dual filament H4 bulb. This option will yield the "best performance". If you want to read more check this out:

Option #4:
Pay someone to build you the harness mentioned in Option #3. Others have used Susquehanna Motorsports (Rallylights.com). You can read about their experience here:

not if you have them already in your car junk box...lol...and for now,I just used 4 9006 plugs and 2 h4 plugs, my depos came with h1 plugs, works good...I'll do my harness soon.

Very true. I'm all about reusing from my box of scrapped out cars too. When it comes to highly used electrical, steering and brake stuff I don't like to go used.

anyone have a schematic to make your own harness?

I've got an innovative wiring harness that I won't be needing in the next month or so, as the plan is to projector retrofit mine. I'll post to this site before putting it up on classifieds for those that may be in need. Mine's about a year old.

Question regarding option #2 above. From my understanding the H1 bulbs ground to the bulb baseplate. Would it not be best to ground the factory ground wire directly to this plate? Or are we assuming that the depo housing sufficiently grounds the bulb? I'm getting ready to work on this myself, but I won't have all the parts laid out until later next week. Thanks.

I have not had any issues grounding the H1 via a H4 connector.

Is Slee's harness all you need for these? I have the depo headlights and bulbs.

@retrofive
Yes, if you don't want to build the entire harness from scratch. The mod to the Slee Harness is pretty easy. Takes a bit to wrap one's head around it but it works....REALLY WELL.

I am looking into the grounding concern and will report back if I find something out.
