Hi everyone!
Glad to be a member. This is a lot of firsts for me: first cruiser, first 4wd vehicle, first vehicle that I ever really bought for anything other than pure utility. I could have (should have) gotten something with more room, better mileage, less miles, etc. BUT I DIDN'T!

Here's my LX, it's the gold color, not the white. We live in central Phoenix around 16th and Bethany, so if you guys ever see me driving around, don't be shy. Now that I have the truck, I'm seeing LX's and Land Cruisers EVERYWHERE, even got a nod from a green LC up in Sedona this weekend.

Not sure if I'll be able to go to many of the monthly meetings (I work a lot and we have two toddlers) but hopefully we can join you guys for some of the rides. Since I've never gone off road before, I kinda feel like the group rides would be a good way to dip my toes in the water.

whoops, here's some info about my truck:
  • 2001 LX, wood trim package, chrome package, levinson stereo (WITH CASSETTE PLAYER!!!!)
  • 202k miles
  • bought it off of craigslist in orange county for $8,750, it was single owner, mostly maintained at the Lexus dealer (small stuff like oil changes were done at what appears to be a reputable independent shop), seller had an LC prior to this car, and sold this one to me because he just bought an LX570
  • i bought it because now that we have kids, we had too much gear to go camping in our previous camping car (ford escape); I was strongly considering getting a larger vehicle with more space for gear (suburban, f150, etc) but decided to go with this car despite the smaller cargo area, since I've liked land cruisers for a long time. we have a 21 cu/ft yakima box, hopefully that will be enough space
  • i've never had a car before that I wanted to mod, but now that I have this car, I'm kind of thinking about: plasti dipping the gold badges and maybe the chrome wheels to make them less flashy; swapping in LED lights for the interior; replacing our yakima box with a Yakima MegaWarrior rack instead, to make bulky type items easier to take along; cleaning/repairing/replacing the front seat leaters as needed

Welcome Javier...
