Thanks for the welcome! I've been lurking here and on ExPo for some time doing research and gathering information. For a couple of years I rode a BMW GS Adventure Bike but sold it a few years back. Since I couldn't get the overlanding bug out of my system I recently picked up a 2001 LX 470 in pristine condition inside and out over in Phoenix. It was up to date with all the required maintenance and had all the service records. We recently took it out for a little camping trip on the backside of Cookes Peak (NM, north of Deming). It drives, handles and performs like a dream on and off road.

Before I settled on the LX I looked at and test drove some used LCs (100s) and all had been abused, no scheduled maintenance done, no records and had lots of issues. Anyway, Im happy to be connected here. Its a great resource!
