Pick up from partsouQ a Toyota oem canister
P/N 77704-60290.
Fit is good and can be made perfect if you grind off this back plastic part around the canister. I decided to just cut the top strap off and use the bottom strap only on the bracket. Another easy issue is the purge feed off the canister is the next size smaller, so I just stepped the original line down a size with what I could find in the garage. Letter this week I will just replace all the old lines and clean it up. Part was 228.00 shipped from Dubai and took 3 days to get.

Very timely, last weekend I put in the Autozone VC120, ~$80. Seems to work well. Finish the rebuild of the original tonight, hopefully that will work well l. Hope yours fits the bill.

Updates? Did it solve your issue?

Good to know, I am going to try the Dorman 911-261 Vapor Canister just to see what happens. May go to the VC120 but figured I'd see if there is another option that can be added to the list.

I’m in the middle of development for a bolt on mount for it so that no grinding/cutting/trimming needed. Just FYI

There is a guy in here who made a beautiful strap clamp with brackets that bend over the top. I will never design this but in my research to I was going to use this can, use standard paint can top clamps, brass elbow breather on the bottom, 2 French press coffee strainers (top and bottom) for the charcoal. The issue is this, the ball valves on the top tank/purge are not something I could ever get made, not sure if you need to have them as ball valves but assume so. If you don't, then two brass elbows and you are done. All told I was at about $17 per unit to build but the top valves stopped me. Happy to get the idea out there for others to expand upon.

I am surprised the FJ80 community has not crowd sourced the product or just the idea yet. You can 3DP a prototype but the engine bay is too hot. The issue as I see it is only the top valves and like I said, if they don't have to be ball valves then this solution above is easy!

BTW I absolutely LOVE that slide in method, I'd suggest two small lips on each side of the canister portion so that when you slide it in it not only stops it from sliding through but you could add two holes for screws and fasten it to the other side to secure it and prevent any rattle as it ages.

Yes it works, in my other 80 I used the vc120 it’s cheaper does the same job, the 105 is def nicer.
for anyone curious I'm running the VC120 on my '92 & just passed the smog exam here in California without issue
