I am thinking I have found a new meal to make... Tostadas... at Camp! I found a very simple recipe online and I am excited to try it out... this is what it should end up look like... what does everyone think?

The prep looks to be something super simple to do ahead of time and would make it even easier then slipping in the mud to make on site.
The rest is basically build your own with the fixings as you like it....
shell
re fried beans
cheese
meat
iceberg lettuce
radish slices
cherry tomatoes
Cilantro.....
and sour cream!

Quesadillas are another simple meal.

so you're saying you like fruit loops?

As if the tostada pics and quesadilla reference hadn’t made me hungry enough, someone had to mention fruit loops….

I never understood the tostada. It’s just a flat, brittle, taco shell. Makes a mess with every bite. Like eating a burger with only a bottom bun. Go ahead, change my mind.
well it depends on how brittle you make the bread... the premade ones are very delicate but if you cook a tortilla up you can fix that issue... i think

Thats it, I'm going to Tippy's.

My wife and I were talking about Tippys this past weekend. Miss having those around.

In the early/mid 90's if you had asked me which fast food joint would become a national chain.... Tippys or 5 Guys.... I would have emphatically said Tippys.

Hypothetically, my most wrongest moment. lol

But seriously, $15 for a burger and fries? I just don't get it.

If I'm over in the Alexandria area, I usually stop in for a quick lunch at the Tippys on North Kings Hwy. I think there are only a few left. Our go-to back in the day was the one on Columbia Pike.

And who can forget Burrito Brothers? Oh man, that was a serious feast.

I routinely go for the daily special at the Tippy's in Fairfax (Lee Hwy). California burrito day is a gem!
