Hey hey, I have been given a Toyota Landcruiser which I believe is a 1986 FJ70 model. I will takes pictures soon and post them to confirm with all of you.

Just wanted to say hi!

My goal is to put some money and work into the old beast, but I don't know much about them or cars in general :/ but my father is retired and hopefully can lend a hand.

Speak to you all soon! :)

Hello all! New here, this will be my first post. I’m currently living outside of Atlanta, GA but will soon be relocating to Maputo, Mozambique with my wife for her work. We just purchased a 70 series from Japan that will be imported to Mozambique. It is a 1994 HZJ77 with 156,000 km on the clock and looks to be in excellent shape. It is a little scary buying a vehicle sight unseen but, the company we used is trusted and highly recommended by many of the expats in the area so we’re hoping they are right. Anyway, I have to say I did not know much about any Land Cruiser, but I knew if we were going to be spending any time outside of the city in Africa, that’s what I wanted to be in. Looking forward to learning more about it!
Regards,
Marc

Welcome, looks like a nice tidy Cruiser! Just a heads up, looks like its fitted with some Dunlop Grandtrek Tyres, Id be changing them as soon as it arrived in Africa. They have a soft sidewall and you get very little Km's out of them. Change them for something better to suited to Africa Id say, maybe Coopers etc. :D

Thanks for the heads up, I'll look into changing the tires out when it shows up. They said it has about 50% tread remaining so I don't expect them to last too long...

Hey Guys,

I'm Nick from Australia. Got wife and 2 kids

I've got a 97 Prado GXL with bits and pieces. It's the wife DD after I upgrade to my Baby.

2004 Troopy 78 RV with a few more bits and pieces that are set up for long range touring. Love it to death but wanted a 79 ute. Done a few big trips in her she's never let me down.

Wife and kids put that off for a while :ban:

So since Toyota came to their senses, now waiting for a LC79 Dual Cab which is on the boat. Taking delivery in Feb and will start building her up nothing extreme but a solid tourer like the Troopy. Esp since most gear is moving over :p

Here is where you get the star.

You cant upload any pics until your post count is above a certain number(or until you have the star),Im not sure what it is ,but its not all that many.
You can still upload from a host site like photobucket or imageshack.

Welcome to MUD.

Welcome to the land of landcruisers

Rear OME bumpers are a P.I.T.A. personally I prefer out new local bumpers which are round and do not catch DROP offs and if they do they slide down the obstacle. All OME rear bumpers have a sharp edge which catches everything like a DOZER blade. ALso the PINtel hook is also more hidden than before as these are a major BANK catcher.

Front bumpers I now prefer this design light and Strong for older vehicles. OME stuff is to bulky. I gave this design to a workshop to create now it's on their new truck but much bigger tube.
