Well i bought it here in PA 6 years ago and i was told it wasnt from a South American truck and i actually was told it was from a 76 by the seller.

That looks to be like an earlier tub made to look like a late model tub.

What's going on underneath the tub?

If the structure is still there it might be able to be salvaged and put back to original.

Those front floors have been replaced and a platform placed under the seat that goes back to the cargo area. It appears home made.

Agree. Something is off.

Too many discrepancies, it’s not a 76 the tank would have been under the right seat. There is nothing to mount 79-83 seats to. There is no access plate to the fuel sender on a 79-83. Are you sure you didn’t get that from Landcruiser Heaven?

It looks like someone started with an earlier tub found a trans tunnel from a late model tub then used flat sheet metal to tie the late model tub to the late model tunnel from front of fenderwells forward, and then sheet metal for the floors, and then sheet metal for the "humps" where the late model tub factory formed humps would live.

It may work for a late model truck, but I wouldn't advertise it as a 79 & up tub, because it's not.
