Need some advise!

I've looked at that and donor tubs are few and far between in Montana. Not to mention the freight to get something in here. Nice thing about Aqualu is they are just across the border to the north.

Wish we didn't salt here, it's disgusting the amount of crud thrown down on the streets here. This cruiser is not a daily driver and it will sit when the roads are salty.

It might survive a RPG hit, I'm using 10 gauge steel to fab the rear tub. Our trails are full of rocks so I am planning ahead to the beating it will take.

I'm in Rapid City. There are some really nice trails in the Black Hills. Check out the Black Hills Cruiser Classic in July for a good taste of what we have to offer.

Yeah I'm in Great Falls. What shape are the tubs in? I've got a buddy who travels over there once a month for Reserve duty so he could look at them for me.

Rapid is a really beautiful part of SoDak. My wife lived there for awhile while her Dad was stationed at Ellsworth. I bet there are some reall nice trails. Any good trails around Deadwood?

Propilot, my firewall was in excellent shape, so I had it sandblasted & coated with a heavy duty primer. The tub just bolted right on, but with all aftermarket items, a little coaxing and working was necessary, but surprisingly very little. Once I had the tub and firewall back on the frame, it was excellent motivation to get my ass moving to finish it off. I had the underside of both firewall (original) and tub coated with underbody coating (don't remember the brand, had a local guy do the blasting, painting, and coating). I'd do the same thing over again, and likely will when my fiancee gets her 40!

My dad's hunting buddy got a used steel tub from Arizona, which worked out well for him as well. So either route, you'll end up with something good. If you do go steel, then anti-rust the hell out of it!

Either way, have fun with it and enjoy it! Whatever you are comfortable with or want, go for it. All we require is pics, and lots of 'em

The wife and I went to BHCC in 2006, we had a great time, it just HOT!

actually in MT there is salt used, usually anywhere from 6%-12% mixed with the sand. I should know as the comp. I work for produces it when we get the bids.
