I'm getting ready to rebuild a 2F for my 1976 FJ-43. I have most of the parts. What I'm looking for now is a machine shop that knows what they're doing to bore the cylinders/bearing journals and balance the crankshaft/rotating assembly (I've read that helps 2Fs run smoother and last longer).

I will do the final build/assembly myself, but I want the machine work done by someone who has experience with the 2F.

Can anyone recommend a machine shop in the Denver area for this engine work?

CruiserShel, you are correct 2Fs pull way better when properly balanced.

It's a significant difference.

If you haven't driven a balanced one yet you're in for a pleasant surprise.

I’ve used a guy called the engine shop and he does great work he’s way north give him a call 303-772-0920

Well I'm way up north too, so Longmont isn't too far. Has he done 2F or Land Cruiser work for you?

Check the rising sun forum for recommendations as well, but I’ve used Gunn automotive on federal for two heads and they did great work and identified them as soon as I walked in. There is another place out west, can’t think of it off the top of my head now.

Found it-mountain high performance. Good luck
