Looking for recommendations, warnings or other options.

My current options are:
New "OEM" from SOR - $205
Test Engine Unit from SOR - $130
Aftermarket Pump from MAF - $90
Aftermarket from Metric Auto Parts (Local) - $109

In general I have used OEM stuff if at all possible/reasonable. The local toyota dealer isn't sure he can even get one. His system says maybe and about $400.

Thanks:cheers:

call Dan at American Toyota for best deat on OEM.

Go OEM. I bought the waterpump, pulley, and fan clutch from RHT for something like $350-380.

2F water pump is $78.21 through me (OE).

Edit: The whole assembly with the clutch and everything on it is Disco from Toyota.

Don't forget the gasket. The pump does not come with one.

Holy good gobs of info here for 60's and 62's. Yay.

Thanks for all of the input guys. Gonna get this done in the next few days.

While your'e there think about new hoses for the oil cooler, probably soft from all the oil spilling when changing oil filter, other hoses and belts. Need to redo thermostat? now's the time.

If you have a 3FE.

Be careful of the sensors on the thermostat neck. Replace all of the belts, at a minimum, the one on the AC compressor. Repalce the lower radiator hose that connects to the water pump. Replace the top and bottom hose and the alternater side of the waterpump.

Also as a recomendation, if the old pump is not totally shot, flush the coolant system before you begin the swap.

vasellers - Unfortunately I did all of that work earlier this fall. Every coolant hose on the vehicle (yes even the little FI ones) new thermostat, new belts, split the fan shroud. The pump had shown no issues prior to that so I left it alone. Now it's leaking like a sieve. By the way, I think those "special" hose clamps that came with the hose kit from SOR suck. Every one of them leaked for a while and a couple hoses I double clamped so they wouldn't leak. I prefer the old standby clamps. Anyone else have the happen?

Thanks again to all for the input.

Went to auto parts store and bought hose clamps with solid metal band that fit the hoses, no wire types or perforated ones to cut the hoses. They didn't leak at all. I've done the same thing you did, replaced all the bits and pump bit it afterwards.
