Hey Y'all,

After installing the V8, 700R4, Marlin Toybox, and transfer case, I've come to find that the parking brake cable won't quite reach the proper mounting point on the dash.

Has anyone come up with a solution for this problem?

Does someone make a longer cable?:meh:

TIA,

jC

You can have a new cable made to any length at a clutch and brake shop.

Wanted to follow up after the fact with this post (in case anyone uses the search function).

I purchased the longer parking brake cable supplied by BTB. After shelling out $145 for part and shipping, I came to find that the drum end of the cable didn't have the groove machined 360 degrees around to provide a positive catch for the circlip inside the drum. Additionally, the under-dash end came equipped with an eyelet, instead of a "T" as my truck was equipped. I was assured by the folks at BTB that it was an "exact fit", and took no modification. When I called the let them know about the machining and differences, I got the distinct feeling that I was bothering them. I was told to use a bolt and nut on the other end. (um... no thanks)

I carefully cut a groove with a file, and TIG welded a rod to make a "T" for the other end.

Buyer beware......:meh:

cirbo can you post some pictures of the cable you took out I want to have one built but they need a picture so they put the right ends on it. I dont have one at all in current setup. Thanks

Damn I hate that. I've had a few minor hiccups with a MUD vendor lately and he has been A++++ with resolutions. Better than I could have ever hoped for.

Never had experience with BTB myself...

If you'd like, I can do one better. If you pay shipping, I'll send you the old cable.

Let me know which one you'd like me to do.
