Hey fellow Ih8muders,

It's coming down to the end of year and I think it's time to find some savings out there while also making a good deal on a used LC200. This will be my first ever LC (I had a Tacoma for 15 years and I currently have a VW JSW TDI which will be getting bought back). I really could use y'all's advice in trying to figure out what are the differences in year to year specs for the LC 200 from 2008-2017. Specifically, I'm looking at the used 2016s, but my gut is telling me to save the money and go for a 2013-2015 and pass the savings on to my pockets, mods, and other fun stuff.

From what I've been reading here and elsewhere (mostly here), it seems to me that the 2008-2011 LC 200s relatively stayed the same and the same could be said for the 2013-2015 LC 200s as well as the 2016-2017 LCs. Would that be an overall correct broad picture view for the overall specs of the LC200 through those years?

If so, then it will help me really narrow down my choices. Maybe I should just focus on a 2013-2014? If I do go for a 2013-2014, is it still okay to get one from the midwest or northeast with regards to rust? Are there any other things I should be looking out for or paying attention to and because it's certified, does it mean that I can put a little more trust in the vehicle and what I'm getting out if it?

I really appreciate the help and I'm looking forward to sharing my ride with the community once I figure out what I'm getting and where I'm getting it from.

Best!

Hope it's OK to add to this ithread.

I am also in the market for a LX or LC. I am leaning towards a 2013. Would anyone know the differences in LX vs LC for 2013. Powered 2nd and 3rd row seats were on LX, but not LC. Anything other differences?

PS: are 3rd row seats usable for road trips? My 2000 seats aren't that great for distances.

We had a 100 series before, and the third row in the 200 is slightly better for our use.

We recently did a 2600 mile trip in our 200 series. We have LX (wife) and LC (mine). We used the third row. Issue isn't comfort, but no space behind the third row for luggage.

So I use a 21 cubic feet Thule box.

Our neighbor has a Sequoia, and that has a bit more third row space (real life, don't know specs).

Good luck with your search.

Thanks for info. I think we going to go with a 2013 Certified LX

BTW it's only 8 bolts and 2 connectors to remove the 3rd row seats if/when you don't need them. They weigh 115 lbs on the LX so they're sitting in my basement.

Before you decide...

Consider whether you'll want to upgrade suspension at some point. If so, you might do well to choose the LC over the LX because the LX's height adjustable suspension is an unknown quantity when it comes to a lift. On the LC, it's a straight forward decision, but it gets very complicated with the LX to the point of not knowing anyone yet who has lifted one.

Markuson, Agreed. I'm not a fan of the LX suspension or exterior. The LX470s had some issues with the adjustable suspension. In fact, my old suspension went to a LX470.

I'll second Markuson's comment on LC over LX, IF you're ever likely to want to mod.....at this point there is no easy solution to the Lexus suspension.... they are however much more readily available - and the 2010's have most of the features that the 2013 LC's have...cooled seats , chiller box in console and HID headlights.... and the Lexus leather seems to be a bit more supple.

but for mods the LC is the real / easy only option...

I personally prefer the vinyl seats over the upgraded leather in the 2013. One nice feature is the cooling seats that the perforated leather offers but it doesn't seem as durable to me. HID lights are a big plus. I have never tried the entune system but I really like the 09 audio/video system. Not sure if the entune system can notify someone about accidents in the road and such - that would be a nice feature.
