Good day guys.

I have an N70 with a SAS. The builder used the transmission from an ln130/hilux surf so i’m not really sure what I have.

Anyway, I need help identifying my transmission as I’d like to replace my reverse light switch. Sorry for the crappy pictures.

Is the switch circled yellow my reverse light switch?

Thank you and sorry again for the crappy pictures.

The switch in your picture is the 4wd lite.
There should be a switch on the trans, possibly on the other side.
Hard to tell the tranny without seeing the front half

Thank you for the reply sir. Problem is, I don’t see any more switches or wires on either side. Only on the transfer case. I’ll try to take better pictures in the morning. Here’s a picture of the other side, if it helps.

Here’s the other side mated to a KD bellhousing.

Front half.

No more switch aside from the 1st one. 😔

So in the last pic. The thing that looks like a fill plug is probably where the switch goes. Remove the plug and see if the shift rail is visible and is in fact the reverse rail.

You mean this thing? If i remove it and it is indeed the reverse switch, could I run the truck without it? As I think I need it off as a sample to buy the replacement.

Any idea what transmission this is?

Thanks again for the reply sir. 👍

Thank you for the replies sir. You have been a great help. 👍😊

The backup switch is a pretty universal item especially if you are not even in a Toyota. ;)
Check the link below to match your trans.
What he said. The switch is usually the same across transmissions. The only thing that could be different is the plug, but that is no big deal. See if you can boneyard a switch.

Thanks for the reply sir. I will fix it after the quarantine. In the meantime, I temporarily tapped a switch for my reverse. 🙂
