Success!

I was just headed out the door on a fools errand. My SO who has been helping me, she suggested that I use the car jack. So using a pry bar between the frame and the lower control arm and a small car jack between the frame and the lower control arm to capture the spread with the pry bar, I got the holes to line up and the bolt through. Front suspension is now in. Now on to the rear.

Can't wait until this is put back together.
I’m having the same issue. Would you mind describing in a little more detail what you did? Specifically where on frame/LCA are you placing the pry bar and the car jack? If you have pics I would really appreciate a look at them.

Are you having trouble getting the lower shock bolt in?

I’m having trouble visualizing this, how are y’all forcing the LCA down with a floor jack?
I disconnected my sway bar from the LCA...but that required to open the shutter valves...and was a HUGE pain to get the bracket lined up to get the two bolts in

Heh, yeah I did that once... never again if I can help it.

I had this same issue installing the ironman front coilovers a few days ago. Was such a bitch to get the bottom coilover bolt in. The video makes it look way too easy.

Best way is to open the shutter valves and disconnect the sway bar at the piston and the corresponding support rod. Never ever disconnect the the sway bar at the control arms… you’ll wrestle all day to get them lined back up and bolted in place.

With truck on stands; Use a jack for raising the LCA into place to get the lower bolt in.

Cool, thanks! I’m planning on installing my lift in the next couple of weeks.

Sorry for the multiple posts, could not get it to load multiple photos for one post.

I couldn’t get the jack into the exact position with everything put back together, so I squeezed that Gatorade bottle in there to show the basic placement that worked for me. One photo shows my finger pointing to where the jack contacted the frame another photo shows my finger pointing to where the jack contacted the LCA. The photo with the jack shows the orientation of the crank mechanism, which I was able to turn with my fingers (sorry it is a blurry photo). I did not need to disconnect anything that was not disconnected in the Ironman YouTube install video.

Good luck.

I was starting to wonder if you got a bottle caught up in your suspension on the highway before I read your explanation in the next post!
