Okay, I never claimed to be a mechanic....

Trying to drop the front driveshaft. I got the front of it off, but can't rotate the driveshaft to get to the two bolts on top of the rear u-joint with a wrench. Do I just need to cuss and sweat 'til I get it off, or is there a way to rotate the shaft without screwing something up?

HELP!!!

Shift the transfer into neutral. Be sure to have the parking brake set because the truck will roll.

put the T-case in neutral.

make sure you are on level ground block the rear tires, and set the (working) parking brake

with the Tcase in neutral the park pawl in the transmission is not connected to the wheels.

Edit, Dan is quick on the draw today

Oh my gosh.... I didn't even think I was that much of an idgit. Couldv'e sworn I tried that and it was still locked up. Turns by hand slicker-n-snot now!

Thanks.

Don't worry, i did the same thing. I was out there rocking my truck forward and backwards trying to line up the bolts, then it dawned on me, Tcase-neutral!!!
