I could use a couple of those.

does the bumper attach via a through-hole with bolt and nut, or is there a threaded hole in that spot so that you only need a bolt?

thanks

Through hole with bolt & nut.

Bump

Looks as if it had a small bolt that went in a resessed area of the bummper and had a nut that held it in place.

Thanks, I may need to reproduce this on my 45 so I was curious if I needed a threaded hole. Looks like I don't.

get a chunk of rubber and a buddy with a bandsaw...

let me know if you need measurements....

I realize its not an exact match, but this Dorman HELP! item may work and its available at you rlocal auto parts store. Its about the right size although it has a funny protuson vs. a flat top. This one has the bolt and a pin which requires a second hole to keep it from rotating. Not sure if the 45 has this second hole or just a single hole.

miker, you may be onto something here. Looks good and adding the extra rotation hole is no big deal. The original is just not available so I will see what it looks like in size if I can find one locally. I am also going to my local salvage yard this weekend and do some scouting.
Good find, thanks.

I bought one of these a few months ago for another project and I recall the base is about 1" x 2" so I think it would be close to fitting the same area on the bed. Not sure how the height will work out.

Okay guys sounds pretty close to the original one I have in my hand.
Its base is almost 2" long, 3/4" wide and 1".25 to is highest point.
It looks as if it too may of had a rubber nipple that went into a stop rotation hole, hard to tell as it looks as if it has been missing for years. But there is a secound hole in the vicity of the mount hole. Mind you this is on a 1978 LWB so I am not sure what the earlier ones have.
I believe I will invest in two and call it good. I am sure I can modify the contour of the rubber if needed.
Thanks Miker

I took a few photos of the on I have. It is in bad shape as it is hardened from years of weather and sun. If you look close were the white circle is, you can see that it had a rubber nub at one time that went into a hole for rotation stop. Its size is not very big. Not sure on the year changes but pretty sure that they were all the same.
Let us know on what you find.
