IMHO, unless you're trying to restore a show queen for top dollar, I say build the 70. What makes the '78 so desired is the features (e.g., disk brakes, etc., which you already have and can upgrade on the '70. So you can have the features of the '78 and the aesthetics of the '70, which I like better like the turn signals, doors, door windows, etc. Also, I think the metal on the '70s might have been better. Why do you have to strip off the paint on the '70? Good luck with it and welcome!
