Hey Guys,

New to the LX470 world, just picked up a 2004 and am getting to know her. Anyone know what the little red switch in the glove box is for?

Pics?

Something somebody scabbed on there. Pull the panel and follow the wires, Hurt Locker style.

It must do something important since it's red!

You guys have no idea what you're talking about, that's obviously the flux capacitor activator.

Probably a bypass so you can watch DVDs on the go

Gotta be something 007'ish

why wouldn't you just ground the PIN wire instead? seems much easier than going through all that hassle

Some aftermarket systems require the braked to come on, off, and back on again to prevent a grounded wire.

Maybe antenna power override ?

I'm thinking of doing Robred's mod for this, and that exactly where I'm planning to drop the switch. I have an aftermarket Head unit and it puts the antenna up even when I'm doing Bluetooth, CD or XM.

WHAT IS IT!!!! It's killing me!

Hey Fellas - I think that it is a bypass to watch DVD's on the go. It does't currently work, so I reckon it was disconnected before we bought it.

I picked up a 2004 LX with 62K on it and am pretty stoked. Just yanked the rear spoiler and plugged the holes - great info on this forum for that process.

At some point I will start to customize but for now I am enjoying the great ride and trips into the Colorado hills in the snow.
