Mystery button

Loving my 'new to me' 05 GX. Still scratching my head on a few things. I have the non-nav and trying to figure out my options for a stereo. Saw a YouTube video where a guy installed a Parrot MKi9000, he really liked it but had poor Amazon reviews.
My question today is what does the button that is under the small trim piece that is in the gear shifter trim piece do? Ebay calls the piece a "GEAR SHIFTER CAP COVER". Thanks, Richard M

It cover park interlock release button below it. The button allow you to release the park position interlock. So you could move it to other gear when the vehicle have no electrical power.

Good question. There’s a button under there though.

The 2ND START skips 1st gear. RSCA disables the side curtain airbags. No traction control button unfortunately.
