Just installed the fuel tank. Got it in but got into an accident when the strap that holds the tank gave way and landed on my forehead. Clumsiness is the culprit, although I could blame it on my assistant, hehehehe

Beautiful :D

There are supposed to be little rubber cushions for the straps so that the tank rides on the cushions, not on the metal straps.

I did place a cushion similar to the ones place on the top of the fuel tank. It is actually felt cushion. The real cushion for the bottom is a protector and I believe is made of plastic based on the weight of .5 kg. See photo attached.

Very nice, will you sell it when finished?
If I remove the tank one more time I will replace the clamps with screwable (...) because they have been on it for 25 years and somehow mine started leaking when using a fast truck diesel filler, :slap:
Not nice when road check guy smells diesel leaking, impossible to replace when tank is mounted.

I dont have that protector plate, is that an accessory? ( it does have the felt/carpet bit)

 I am selling this for the right price. I mean, you can see what I put in to it. after this project, I still have a few in line. Next will be a BJ40 95% original. Then a VW Beetle.

When I bought Willie (my HJ61) it came as is without a protector for the tank. So I improvised a felt lining so the strap would not get into contact directly with the tank. Still serves the purpose.

I believe the protector plate is available in Amayama Trading. This is where I get most of the parts from. They are based in Singapore which is nearer the Philippines and less shipping cost for me.:clap:

Cost for the protector from Japan and OEM US$38.66 excluding shipment.
