wheeling today with my 162 LBS Trials bike in the back.....

shackles were bottomed on the bumper in the back, think my mounts need to be moved out on the back ?...seems fine without weight in the back, that is not much weight.

any ideas, Im new at this.
I have it high lift jacked up for the night with straight up shackle position, not that this will correct anything...but WTF

thx,
Rick.

Your shackles are too short.
They should be long enough to allow the springs to flatten out. With heavily arched springs (which yours appear to be) you will probably have to compromise by using longer shackles and/or moving your hanger further back.
Watch how the curretnt shackles move when your rig flexes and try to imagine which method (or combination) will get you the results youy are seeking.
Just a little fine tuning, thats all.

awesome thx,
I should prolly try some longer shacles.......truck will be un-even..will this be a problem.?

En-even?
how so?
The shackles should be the same on both side in the rear.
And, the front can be a different length than the rear.
Seems to me a lot of the mini-trucks running around run real long shackles in the rear, probably because of the situation you are experiencing.

raised the bumper.....longer shackles on order.

thx for the input !!

measure the overall length between the spring eyes when it's flattened (use string to follow the curve)

measure the distance between your spring hanger and your shackle hanger.

your shackle length should = spring length - distance between hangers + about 25mm.

Blue Torch Fab has cheap shackles. I think around $30 for a pair. I just picked up a set.

Ok,
with the measure method, sounds about good !!
Spring eye to eye is 58"
hangers are 54 1/2

4 1/2 " shackles........

just a rough measurement at night.

My first ever car was a Corolla, second was a 1982 mini truck.

Still have a reall soft spots for minis and your truck is one of the nicer rigs I have seen.

Moved the shackle mounts back to the end of the frame....mounted up some longer shackles..
I will have some pics friday, should flex awesome now (hopefully)

Huge difference, :D :D :bounce2:

-Took out one leaf in the rear's
-Slammed the shackle mounts all the way back
-went with some 1" lift shackles

Ordered the wrong shorter rear shocks to re-locate wider... and broke the tail light lense backing the truck out of the garage...

she flexes now !!!

thx for all the input....very much appreciated.
Just need to put the bumper back down.
