This is the first Land Cruiser that I had ever own. I wanted to do this one more stock than my other one.
My daughter talked me into putting on a snorkel so I had to work that into the build also. With this I needed an older air cleaner, cut off the snout so I could adapt the snorkel tube to it.
But before that, I had to order a sag pump bracket that I couldn't use because the air cleaner is in the way.
I read about using the air pump bracket for the sag pump to keep it low and out of the air cleaners way. So that is what I did. I couldn't get enough throw out of the sag pump for it is the belt tensioner. Looking around I found these old school pumps, I liked the old school look and the smaller diameter of the tank would get me what I needed to tighten the belt.
Here are the hoses I used. The pressure hose had to be bent a little at the box and fabbed with a compression fitting at the pump end.
Now for the alternator, I bought this off Ebay for a hundred bucks. I asked Bill the owner if he could put on a double pulley for me, he did it at no extra cost. 1 wire GM alt
After a little grinding, I was able to fit the pivot bolt hole inside the factory Toyota bracket. The double pulley reached out enough to get the inside pulley of my 2F. IMAO, this is as factory, non factory will look.
I know this is always a topic with these older cruisers. So I thought I would start this thread to show what I had done. Next is the carb and dizzy. Hopefully I can get it moving on its own power by the end of the summer.
Thanks, Brent
