hey

this is my first post here. have just picked up an ex british military trailer used behind the landrovers. it is a little wider and bigger than the normal m101 type units. it runs a 16" five bolt rim has a working tailgate, convoy lights, hydraulic (i think) brakes, a parking brake, pintle hookup, front stand aannnddd 2 jacks that come down from the back to level and hold the trailer firm. all for 900 bucks. i'm happy. i will post up some more pics tommorrow when i can thaw it ought. oh yeah 24v power which suits my 42 just fine.

Nice score, the tailgate and extra space are a real bonus. May I ask where you got this unit? I'm in Calgary as well. I just made a dissapointing trip back from Edmonton to pick up an M101 from West Ed Eqipment. The pics that he sent me definately did not match the trailers he had, so I'm still looking.

Hey doug

i got mine from a neighbour a couple alleys over in glamorgan. he buys and sells surplus iltis jeeps so has contacts to get parts and other surplus stuff. i was interested in a canadian unit but they are defiantly rustier. i guess 12 of these went thru the last auction. it was an auction up by edmonton. if you want i can ask him if there are more.

cheers

Based on your description and the attached picture, this looks like a Scottorn 750 kg trailer (manufacturer in Janes is listed as Reynolds Boughton). In the picture, there appears to be a data plate. Would you mind posting any details on the model and manufacturer that you have? Thanks

thanks davegonz

the trailer in the photo is not exactly mine it was one of a few that were emailed to me from the seller and the only 1 i could get to load into mud. on mine that vin plate has been painted over. from what i can find online it is a sankey 3/4 ton. it weighs in at around 500kg and has a payload capicity of 750kg. i did see the one ton version the other week which was strapped to an f150 and made the truck look quite small.

thanks

I think the Sankey is a sweet trailer and has more space to store stuff. I've seen it towed behind Land Rovers and it seems to be well sized for them.
