So.....

I recently purchased some slightly used 866s (Thanks Pskhaat!), but couldn't install them until I took care of the slider / step issue. Yous see, :princess: likes the running boards to use as steps, as do my 2 small children. Ans since I don't have the $$$$ to buy slee slidersteps, I thought I'd make them.

I did not take any pictures during, just after install. They are made with 1.75" .120 wall HREW. Seeing as I didn't have access to a tube bender, I just mitered all the corners. I did the standard HiLift test the other day and they held up to that, so we'll see what happens.

Thanks to all the great ideas from everyone else that has already done this!!

Very nice...I need to learn how to weld.

Are you a shot putter, Liam? :hillbilly:

looks good. that's just a piece of channel on the backside with high grade bolts (vs. u-bolts) to mount them, right? think it will hold up?

hijack - is there a reason that most 100 owners have bolt-on sliders vs welded on? or is it just because Slee sells them like that for ease of DIY installs?

correct, some are channel some are just 1/4" plate. I used steel I had in the garage. It should hold just fine. I like the idea of the larger surface area in contact with the frame (spread the load) using plate vs u-bolts.

I made bolt-on because I want to be able to remove them someday if I either sell this truck / damage a slider / make a new design. Also, the 100 is just too nice for me to weld on.

Nice.

well, a full set of nice sliders for $110+ is pretty darn good...
nicely done!
