Well maat, im sure we can work out a trade for your HJ60 hahaha ;)

Sent from my iPhone using IH8MUD

i was bored yesterday so i went out and got a set of Hella Supertones. i figured i should probably get some new horns since the old stock ones sounded liked they belonged more on a bicycle than a Cruiser.

The install was a breeze as soon as i figured out how i wanted to wire them in.

They don't sound very pretty, but they are LOUD!!! i tested em out last night at about 11:30, my parents were PISSED :p (their bedroom is right above the garage i was working in).

Im taking her to ACC tomorrow to get some work done on the rear brakes.
Who knows :hhmm:... i may come home with an Iron Man lift kit to install with my dad and brother.

Very unique! I like the combination. Good luck on your build!

Do you have a video of them horns. Let's hear them.
Dang, i should've done a little before and after vid. ill try and upload one to youtube this weekend if i have my truck back by then.

I recommend replacing any vacuum hoses you can find, and possibly the coolant hoses too(changing my water pump I discovered my hoses and piping was in much worse shape than they appeared from the outside).
Kevin at Wagongear.com has some nice weatherstripping I recommend as well.

unique colour and appears to be in good shape!! compare to mine, mine is in a worst state and still pending to start the build up as of now my pocket is empty

Don't forget to check the galley plug. Fix it if it hasn't been already.

I went with a satin black for my grill and all the trim. I even painted the inside grab handles because they were a weird shade of yellow. For some reason my rubber/plastic on the handles didn't take paint well (gets real sticky) if you paint those use a primer first.

Out of curiosity.....how did you install the center console with the heater?

IIRC, when you remove the center console, you unscrew about 5 or 6 small screws. Then to make sure you're drilling through the ammo box in the correct place, put little dabs of oil or grease over the screw holes on the heater. Set the box down where you would like it and drill. It will need to be pushed towards the passenger seat in order to allow the gear stick full range of motion. I can tell ya what size bolts I used but I'll have to wait til later today.
I did not do it this way, I did it a much stupider and harder idiotic way...

mind me asking what the price and milage that came with it were? haha just trying to compare it to my recent purchase and the $$$ that I'm putting into my new whip. LOOKS FUGGIN RAD dude. thats a bad truck you got there. also, you can pop the TOYOTA chrome off the grill? looking to paint mine myself as well.

I paid $5,000 for it. it had the 3FE rebuilt at around 195,000 miles. When i bought it, it had 197,xxx on the body so i was super stoked on that price!
The PO was kind enough to throw in all the original parts plus some brand new freebies (oem front seats, engine parts, etc).

And when painting the grille, you'll need to use painters tape to cover the chrome and an xacto knife to carefully cut around the letters because the TOYOTA doesn't pop off.

Forgot to add my parents favorite part of the vehicle and the main reason confident in me purchasing an old Toyota truck...

All the documentation from the last 120,000 miles :D

alright so i didn't do so bad. we are gonna ultimately spend the same amount. i noticed those great looking seats NICE. looks like you really scored.

okay i see. thanks for letting me know. i would've probably broken something off trying to pry around.

what else, aesthetically, are you thinking about doing?

thanks man.

This weekend actually, I'm finally installing the ironman lift with a couple buds, but I guess that isn't just for looks haha. Also, just put in a CB radio. The last 2 things I want to get this summer are 33" cooper discoverer ST or BFG km2s and a safari snorkel, but that's only if I have enough $$$ from my summer job.

Little Update...
thought id splurge a little and instead of get the KM2s, id get a set of 33x12.50r15 Toyo Open Country MTs!! I really like them so far, but have only put about 40 miles on em.

May need a new 33" spare haha

...Ready to get dirty:D
