Done...!!

Dynosoar.....thanks for the help eh....yah make it all look to easy....

Notice the clearance (issues to come) on the front drive shaft and tranny oil pan.....

I got my adapter from Downey...they where on back order and ended up with a advance/downey adapters.........

SUGGESTION: get your whole kit from one source....yeah I know Downey and AA swap theirs all the time....however I ended up with missing hardware and some of the bolts where too long and had to be cut ¼".......Im sure one can do without the extra work eh !!!

Onward !!!!

wow. no kidding on the tight clearance with the driveshaft/trans pan! hopefully it all goes well, but IIRC the Tcase side of the shaft is pretty skinny so....

looking good though.

Ditch the shielding on the tranny. It is close but the clearance is there. but man it looks good. I will have to do another thread you are making me look bad!:grinpimp:

Looking good Frank!

Yeah, I'll put that out. Hey man, Im just a first timer trying to document as much as I can.....but really Dynosoar is the Sensei here....Im just the little grass hopper :confused: learning lots of things....
Im painting the engine bay and fire wall...next...:cheers:

I used two spray cans from http://www.paintscratch.com/ and bought the clear coat (3 cans)from Autozone.........

The color match is close but not perfect...since it has 20+ years on it....
The front of the engine bay (where grill goes) will be POR 15 and so will the lower sections of the wheel fenders where the mud flap goes.......and the frame too...

Im stoked about this project things are coming along VERY slow but really good...

I also pulled the housing for the headlights and every single bolt snapped on my so I got to drill them out and tap them....whoohoo

Before and after pics...

Very nice Frank,

NOW YOU ARE LEARNING THE BLING EFFECT!!:grinpimp:
Oh so that's what that is eh....... :D:D
Well that'll be inner bling..cause that's all Im painting...

The paint looks great......

Are you painting the frame as well?

That paint job is awesome.

Dynosoar:zilla:

Wow that looks GOOD!

Yeah Im doing the front section of the frame, battery tray, skid plate, gear box cover and other small items with POR 15.

Thanks I never thought it would come out this good... (specially out of a spray can) :bounce::bounce:
I had to power wash it and the scrub all the grime off of it before I spray painted it...
Nice little (mod??) project I think I spent about $75 on paint, tape and paper for the paint job...

Im sooo tempted to pull the whole chassis out under the body and do a complete restoration on it...not that it needs it but now I can't help to think this will be a half ass job since Im only doing the front end of the frame..... I really wish the day had 30 hrs instead..:D:D

Thanks guys...

show-off.

Looking good, Frank. I'm debating the same thing about getting the entire body off and restoring the whole chassis.

It's the "While I'm in there..." disease.

By the way, did you find anything about the Corvette LS1 exhaust manifolds and clearance issues? It looks like you're getting close to putting that Vortec inside!

It sure makes sense to get at it since this would be the best time to do it...
Once its all back together its NEVER coming apart (knock on wood eh) !!

I scored a couple of '06-'07 Corvette EM ($25 each) and will let yah know how they work out, hope they fit.....

Yah Im getting there...:beer::beer::beer::beer:

Laters,

Remember budget tip #2 (when you get ready to do the EM) I emailed you. I should have my thread with the pics by tomorrow. Sorry I have been trying to get something done to play catch up.:grinpimp:

Randy..I'll sure do so.. thanks and yeah I'll like to see that thread on the 40's forum... post a link up in here... eh !!

I have a 62 in the garage right now. Doing a 5.3l/4l60E with all the fire engine red you coould want. Gwest from Fl. brought her up to me for some RT Custom treatment. I should have her tore down this weekend and the engine and tranny bolted up with the new adapters. Sure am going to be busy. Still trying to get everything together for a 40 conversion. But it would be a sweet little truck. Glad your moving on yours and you are definately making the rest of us look bad!:grinpimp:
