Because my current interest is focused within the 100 series platform I figured I'd post this thought here.
Just wanted to comment on how impressed I have been with my experiences since joining IH8MUD.
I have been a member on at least one if not several forums for the last 20+ years. I have spent nearly most of my time in groups geared toward German performance/sport cars, motorsports, and motorcycles. Within a few short weeks I am usually so irritated by the banter and super egos that I spend very little time engaging or posting.
I have been very pleased by the camaraderie and even the amount of respect when someone might disagree with another's thoughts. I gather there are very few occurrences of members being banned due to poor behavior. I have seen it way too often in many other arenas.

People here are encouraged to share their enthusiasm for a brand and its purpose, build something they enjoy no matter how much or how little they spend, and don't boast about how much better theirs is over another's.

Thanks to all, Cheers!

Agreed! That was one of the reasons my enthusiasm grew so much for the car. The community is friendly and helpful. That's definitely not the case with most car enthusiast forums.

Likewise, I haven't even officially purchased my first LC/LX and I am always on the site. As impractical as it may be considering the current status of my life It has spawned a rapid growth in interest and a greater desire to find my first one. Fortunately, thru the education gained from fellow mudders and patience I am locked in on what I believe will be my very own LX470.

Ih8Mud has thought me to be a better mechanic. It has given me knowledge that can be used to not only fix the LC/LX's but to fix other vehicle problems and get them working again. And certainly like the OP has mentioned the people are great with a "live and let live attitude" which of course then benefits the overall well being of the forum.. Lets keep it up..and not lose sight that we are all here to enjoy our vehicles and have fun doing just that

...hopefully in the outdoors more than in the garage..lol

Agreed as well. Just wait til you need advice in a real time challenge. Mudders seem to always show up. There are certainly many selfless, friendly, willing and giving smarty britches mudders on this forum. And those positive attributes shine all in the the name of something as finite and materialistic as a vehicle.
